Hard / multi-day context

Cape to Cape end-to-end and serious day sections need logistics, water and official verification — not a casual photo add-on after lunch.

Common trails questions

Tap a question to expand the answer.

What is the best first stop in Leeuwin-Naturaliste?

Most first-timers start with Cape Naturaliste short walks and Sugarloaf Rock, then add Canal Rocks only if energy and parking allow. A long Cape to Cape section is a separate day. Always verify track status with Explore Parks WA / Trails WA.

How hard is the Cape to Cape Track?

End-to-end is a multi-day coastal commitment with exposure, water logistics and variable surfaces. Day sections can be moderate to hard depending on sand, undulation and weather. Match the section to the least fit person in the group.

Are lookouts free?

Many day-use lookouts are part of normal park visitation (official materials commonly state no park entry fee — VERIFY). Lighthouse tower tours and commercial caves usually charge separately.

Can I do both lighthouses in one day?

Usually a poor first-visit plan. Northern icons and Cape Leeuwin are a real drive apart. Prefer one end per day, or a dedicated multi-day stay. Stacking both plus beaches is how groups inherit full car parks and hangry drives.
